There are no. of Children in Rural & Urban area, they may be Sonu, Raju, Ahamed, John, Ranjeet . Every morning they gets up from bed and want to go to school.
But Raju can’t go to school because he joins his parents in their family business of picking the rags from the streets. The whole family sets on foot every morning before any one gets up. Every morning! No weekends! No holidays! No festivals!. The same working day all the year!. They collect all the useful stuff from the trash cans and garbage houses in the city and sell the some to earn their livelihood for that day.
But Sonu can’t go to school because he stays at home to take care of her three year old brother and an infant sister. Moreover she is also responsible for other home chores as mother is not available.
There is no light of education in their lives. They all children are real. If you just look around, you will find many raju, sonu, ahamed, john & ranjeet in any rag pickers in you town, working at a small hotel by roadside or at a vegetable shope or in your own house. Have you ever thought what it means by childhood to these kids? The kind of childhood these kids have in their fate? Childhood which is to be synonymous with fun, dreams, freedom, games, education. But for them it means hard work, living in extremely hazardous and unhygienic conditions, deprived of all those sweet memories. There are thousands & thousands of raju, sonu, ahamed, john & ranjeet in our country. Can’t we do anything for them? Can’t we make at least a small difference in their life?.
